Getting Rid Of Bees From A Pool

By Emily Taylor

Swimming can be so much fun especially during the hot summer season where relaxing in your swimming pool with your family seems to be the best thing to do. You can enjoy getting a gorgeous tan while you are lying down near your pool in a chair or pool bed while your family bath in the clean and clear water of your swimming pool. This picture paints a perfect summer experience worth having. However most summer fun in the pool are ruined by uninvited guests such as bees, wasps and many other insects that tend to pest the bathers in the swimming pool.

Bees and other pests flocks the pool or near it especially during the hot season or when the weather is warm. This is in order to cool them while bathing and drink from the pool as the heat of the sun sets on them. However, they are not just satisfied in getting refreshed as they also tend to attack anyone they see near them or near their hive. The best thing to do in this kind of situation is to get rid of these pests and destroy their nest.

Here are some of the tricks used in getting rid of bees and virtually almost any type of insects that occasionally visit your swimming pool:

— Chemicals are probably the fastest way to get results and perhaps the most effective in getting rid of bees and any pests. However, one should always consider the effect or the end result when using these as they are at the same time harmful to humans. If you are set in spraying chemicals near in your pool and around it, make sure that you empty the pool water and accomplish the job while your kids are away or at school to avoid any accidents. Make sure that you have no pets near your pool or where you will use the insecticide. A good thing to do is to cover anything that you don’t want to get chemicals on them. A vegetable garden needs to be covered to avoid getting chemical residues or direct contact when you are spraying the insecticide as the wind will sometimes carry the chemical. Always remember to use safety goggles, hand gloves and face mask whenever you are using any type of chemicals as they are dangerous to your health. Don’t forget to locate the bee hive in order to get rid of them all and get them permanently out of the swimming pool area.

— Hang a portion of meat near the pool while hanging a bucket below to catch the bees that flock and consume the meat. The size of the bucket depends on the estimated number of bees that hover around the pool area. This method dates back many years ago and was used by the Native Americans as a trap for pests which seem to prove its effectiveness in taking care of these flying scourges. This one never seems to get outdated in use and popularity since it was developed even when there are electric zappers for pests, people who own pools still continue to patronize this method.
