| Customer Reviews: Good Quality, Inside Design not so good August 26, 2010 Chris (Fort Wayne, IN United States) I bought this suitcase about 5 months ago now. I have been wanting to write a review, but haven't gotten the chance until now.
The appearance of the suitcase is good, as you can see in the pictures. It is modern-looking, sharp, sleek, etc. You'll look good with it in the airport.
It seems to be made well, at least so far for me. The zippers work well, the material seems well-made, etc. But of course it has only been 5 months of using a couple of times a month for business trips. HOWEVER, the wheels went bad on me within the first 2-3 months. They developed large dents in them so that when I roll the suitcase behind me it makes a loud uneven, thumping sound, on any surface but carpet. I've NEVER had a suitcase do that before to me. It didn't seem to be a one-time damage occurance, but an ongoing problem with the wheels as more and more dents appeared over time. If it was just once, then I might chalk it up to a baggage handler doing something to it, but this happened at least 2-3 times. When you are wheeling a nice-looking suitcase behind you that looks new but sounds loud because everyone can tell something is wrong with the wheels... not so good! I called TravelPro today and they said that the wheels weren't covered under warranty, but that they'd be nice to me and give me two for free this time (usually $5/wheel). Thanks, but I would think that should be covered!
The part of the suitcase that drives me CRAZY is the design of the inside luggage "strap" tie-downs. I have never seen this part of the suitcase designed so poorly! It's hard to describe, but it uses two snap-together straps that snapp into a main part. The problem is that of course you don't tie down everything until your suitcase is "full". However, when it is anywhere close to full (even half-way), the design is such that you can't even grab the two straps as they are very short and situated in the front bottom of the suitcase. They are about maybe 2 inches long. You have to pull them upwards, and since the suitcase is about 12" deep, you have to dig to the bottom of your clothes (or worse yet shoes). Believe me, it's NOT easy, very frustrating and very hard most of the time.
On the purchase side - Amazon was great as always. I received the product quickly and was a good value.
So, overall nice looking suitcase that is fairly well made, but has a couple of design flaws that would keep me from buying it again.
Well-designed, sturdy and perfect size July 11, 2010 K. Blair 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Purchased for a friend. Got a little ding on it's first trip, but it wasn't the bag's fault. It's well made. The size is within all the airlines' limits, and you can pack it full without weight limit worries. The "Dusty Rose" color is attractive and easy to locate at baggage pickup.
Top of the line luggage February 3, 2010 Christina Prevot (Los Altos, CA) 11 out of 12 found this review helpful
Quality of this bag is fantastic. I even have one that I studied abroad with years ago and no matter how much abuse it endured, it still lives! This luggage is no different. Wheels = great, telescope handle = great, zippers = great, interior space = great. Even more so- the telescope handle is flattened for more interior packing room. The color chestnut is perfect and different, easier to spot at the airport for sure!
Declared Weights are Incorrect June 23, 2009 C. Cook (Phoenix, AZ USA) 13 out of 16 found this review helpful
BaggagePro and Amazon claim the weight of this bag to be 11 pounds. The bag weighs over 14 pounds with the suiter insert included and over 13 pounds without it.
I sent a note to BaggagePro about their claimed weights and they admitted they were incorrect and were going to correct them.
This is a fine bag but if you purchase it based on the low claimed weights, you will be disappointed.
